Lynden Door Trucking
Planner 2 position
This position supports the customer service component of Lynden Door Trucking by matching our customers' needs with LDT’s available capacity. This position will be daily checking to ensure the current plan, and the actual plan are serving the needs of the customer.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the current week’s schedule for the LDT fleet.

- Continual review of current schedule.
- Communicate special instructions to Driver Supervisor/CSR Teams.
- Track equipment and driver locations to determine if in line with scheduled appointments and ETAs.
- Work closely with the Driver Supervisor/CSR Teams.
- Answer schedule related questions.
- Monitor status of current daily schedule.
- Assist and provide direction in problem solving for driver, equipment, weather and other factors that can disrupt the schedule.
- Adjust and/or change the schedule as needed.
- Inform Driver Supervisor/CSR Teams of plan changes
- Revise the current plan as necessary.
- Understand the ripple effects of revisions made to the schedule. This includes the impact 2 days to 1 week out.
- Comprehension of how various lanes can merge and/or impact each other.
- Monitor ETAs for inbound LDI material loads. Update LDT software accordingly.
- Be aware of driver and equipment availability for scheduling purposes (such as upcoming vacations, appointment requests, scheduled equipment maintenance, etc.)
- Adapting and adjusting to frequent changes and requests.
- Confirm trailer assignments by Planner 1
- Understand the logistical strategies of Lynden Door and the family of companies.
- Priority outbound lanes for LDI Sales
- Track release dates and schedule equipment accordingly.
- Direct contact for Lynden Door purchasing regarding priority loads.
Team Support:
- Work closely with Planner 1, providing support for schedule and equipment changes.
- Coverage when Planner 1 is not available.
- Occasional afterhours correspondence will be necessary.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the transportation, trucking or logistics industry
- Strong multi-tasking skills, be highly adaptable, and show an aptitude for tasks that require creative use of resources.
- Interpersonal skills with a high level of detail orientation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise
- A tolerance for stress, patience and empathy for people
- Experience with transportation related software:
- Google Sheets and Excel
- TruckmateTMS & Peoplenet
- Workflow
- Northbound E-manifest Canadian customs portal and Southbound ACE US customs portal
- Customs broker websites
- Lynden Door specific applications and other related company data base software.
Reporting:
Planner 2 reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing
Schedule: Monday-Friday - normal office hours
Occasional afterhours correspondence will be necessary
