Welcome Center Supervisor

Location: Lynden, WA

Lynden Door in Lynden, WA has an immediate opening for a Supervisor our Welcome Center. The Welcome Center Supervisor has the opportunity every day to lead, develop, and care for a small public-facing team who serves as the first point of contact to employees and visitors to our worksite. This is a "working Supervisor" position with responsibilities for team leadership, and also working alongside the team daily in all weather conditions, communicating with vehicle traffic outside. The Welcome Center exists to provide hospitable welcome and customer service connections to the appropriate people and places on the worksite, in alignment with our Statement of Purpose to reflect well on the owners, employees and their families, customers, vendors, and our community.

We additionally support site access control standards and security, and provide administrative support for Recruiting.

Hours: Full-time, in-office, 8:00- 5:00 Monday to Friday. Vacation coverage with modified shift times. Occasional weekend coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop team responsible for:

1) Greeting employees and visitors to our worksite daily.

2) Validating business purpose of visit.

3) Connecting new employee or worksite visitors to appropriate location or person.

4) Logging non-employee and trucking inbound traffic.

5) Investigating, documenting, and promptly communicating security and safety incidents, prioritizing personal safety and safety of employee and worksite visitors.

6) Assist visitors, deliveries, and pick-ups with directions to appropriate parking or shipping/receiving location.

7) Coordinate with project managers on deliveries of project/construction equipment and any special access requirements.

  • Oversee scheduling for Welcome Center. Set schedules, audit and approve timecards, review and respond to vacation and time-off requests, provide a plan or fill-in as needed for absent team members and vacation coverage.
  • Develop and maintain accountability on processes and procedures for the department.
  • Coordinate employee site access badge provisioning and de-provisioning process, prioritizing timely and communicative service to managers and employees.
  • Develop and support site access control logistics and workflow in partnership with Director of Business Services and other management.
  • Maintain and audit consistent staffed hours being a good steward of company resources, avoiding overtime whenever possible in scheduling decisions.
  • Coordinate worksite safety patrols and any communication and action resulting.
  • Maintain and hold team accountable to strict standards on confidentiality of information.
  • Coordinate Recruiting administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate Welcome Center services with security vendor (PAC), developing service alignment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Operations leadership, HR, and Safety, to support broader service, safety, and security goals.
  • Schedule and conduct 90-day and annual reviews for Welcome Center Team Members.
  • Conduct and document regular 1-1 conversations with team members with a team-member driven agenda at least monthly including elements of role and skill development planning.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5 year's prior work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' prior experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated comfort working with business productivity and communication systems including:
    • Outlook (E-mail and Calendar management)
    • Excel
    • Cloud documents (SharePoint, OneDrive)
    • Systems with privileged information.
  • Willingness and ability to be on feet frequently through-out the day, standing outside in all weather conditions for several hours per day, speaking with vehicle traffic to coordinate their worksite access and business connection.
    Professional written and verbal communication.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:

  • Work in blue-collar and industrial work environments.
  • Work in security, law enforcement, or military.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Competitive Hourly Wage - $23/Hr and up, DOE
  • Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Health Savings Accounts (HSA's) with employer contributions $750 - $2,250 annually
